For blogging purposes, I'm Mrs. McD. I graduated with my B.A. and am currently working on my special education teaching credential. I married Mr. McD in June of 2012. Mr. McD has a B.S. and a paramedic license (but you already knew that!). He works out of town at a station, two days on and two days off, with ample amounts of overtime. In addition, we both are in school. Hubby is finishing his last prerequisite for P.A. school and I'm finishing my last courses to get into my credential program. My classes are Tuesday and Thursday nights and hubby's are Monday and Wednesday nights. Of course, in addition to us both working full time. It's pretty tough, but we'll dive into that later!
We met 7 years ago, in May of 2005. I was 15 and hubby was 17. A couple months into our relationship, Mr. McD graduated high school and went to Florida for college. He came back to California for his sophomore year, but I chose a different school. 4 years came and went...and during my senior year of college, Mr. McD proposed! We're pretty used to having long distance schedules, one might say! Even when we finally moved back to our hometown, our work schedules made seeing each other virtually impossible.
Due to our busy schedules, and since we are both finishing school, we are sans kids. Sometimes I get baby fever, especially since most of my friends are on their second child, but most of the time I'm grateful. I'm grateful that we are both still young and have plenty of time to wait on children. I'm also grateful that I can focus on taking care of my husband. Most of all, I'm grateful that we are focusing on ourselves before bringing another life into the world. We are puppy parents, though! We have a cockapoo puppy named Nala. She's a terror and really keeps us on our toes, but she's wonderful company when I'm home alone.
I'm starting this blog to get my ideas on paper, so to speak. I'm blogging to get advice from other paramedic wives (firefighter and police wives too!), to vent, and so that I can remember what works [and doesn't work] for our marriage. Friend me, email me, get in touch!
